What part did Mary and Joseph have in God's plan?

God chose Mary and Joseph to be the earthly parents of Jesus, His one and only Son.

 

"Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel" (Isaiah 7:14). 

 

Baby Jesus was going to be born! How exciting! Angels visited both Mary and Joseph and shared the good news of Jesus’ coming birth. Mary and Joseph believed the angels’ words and did what God wanted.The baby Jesus fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy, as well as other prophecies of the coming Savior throughout the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures). Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled God's plan of redemption that God planned from the beginning of the world.
